Skye lives in a grand palace where she is waited on all day everyday. She knows no other life, and is unaware of what lies outside the palace gates.
Recently her younger brother died in a tragic accident and an attempt was also made on her father's life. She is scared and angry; grief-stricken. So she hides behind a facade of haughty, demanding behaviour.
Skye lives in uncertain times. The kingdom is falling apart as new terrors arise and the old system is abolished in the panic and confusion. Of course, Skye knows nothing of this. Until one day when five strangers arrive at the palace and turn her small world upside down...
